Position Overview:

PSGR KRrishnammal College for Women, affiliated with Bharathiar University, invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology. We seek an innovative, highly motivated, and academically excellent individual to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching, conducting research, and contributing to the academic and administrative activities of the department.

Key Responsibilities:

1)     Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Psychology.

2)     Develop and update curriculum and course materials.

3)     Engage in scholarly research and publications in reputable journals.

4)     Supervise student projects, theses, and dissertations.

5)     Provide academic advising and mentorship to students.

6)     Participate in departmental and college committees and activities.

7)     Contribute to the development and implementation of departmental goals and strategies.

8)     Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications:

a)     A Ph.D. in Psychology with NET / SET from a recognized university.

b)     Demonstrated excellence in teaching and research.

c)      Strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals.

d)     Experience in supervising students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

e)     Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students.

f)      Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

g)     Commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive academic community.

Skills:

a)     Technical Skills:

        i.           Proficiency in statistical analysis software (e.g., SPSS, R).

       ii.           Experience with qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.

     iii.           Knowledge of psychological assessment tools and techniques.

      iv.           Familiarity with evidence-based therapeutic practices.

       v.           Ability to integrate technology into teaching and research.

b)     Research Skills:

        i.           Ability to design and conduct high-quality research.

       ii.           Expertise in statistical analysis and research methodologies.

     iii.           Experience with writing and securing research grants.

c)   Teaching Skills:

        i.           Ability to create engaging and effective lesson plans.

       ii.           Proficiency in using online teaching tools and platforms.

     iii.           Strong presentation and communication skills.

      iv.           Capacity to mentor and inspire students.

d)  Interpersonal Skills:

        i.           Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.

      ii.           Strong organizational and time management skills.

    iii.           Ability to handle multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines.

     iv.           Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
