The Business Development Manager will lead efforts to idenƟ fy, develop, and manage new business
opportuniƟ es in the solar energy sector, parƟ cularly in Solar EPC projects. The role requires strong
knowledge of the renewable energy market, client relaƟ onship management, and the ability to
oversee business development strategies from concept to execuƟ on.
Key ResponsibiliƟ es:
1. Market Research and Strategy Development:
o Analyze and monitor market trends, compeƟ tor acƟ viƟ es, and customer needs in the
solar EPC sector.
o Develop strategies to enter new markets and increase market share in exisƟ ng ones.
o IdenƟ fy opportuniƟ es for new business and partnerships in the solar energy
industry.
2. Client AcquisiƟ on and RelaƟ onship Management:
o Build and maintain strong relaƟ onships with key stakeholders, including clients,
investors, project developers, and government agencies.
o IdenƟ fy and target potenƟ al clients in commercial, industrial, and uƟ lity-scale solar
projects.
o Manage negoƟ aƟ ons and agreements with clients to secure EPC contracts.
3. Project Development and CoordinaƟ on:
o Collaborate with technical teams to ensure alignment between client needs and the
company’s project delivery capabiliƟ es.
o Lead the development of project proposals, bids, and presentaƟ ons to secure new
business.
o Work closely with the engineering and project management teams to ensure the
smooth transiƟ on from contract acquisiƟ on to project execuƟ on.
4. Sales and Revenue GeneraƟ on:
o Develop and achieve sales targets, revenue goals, and profitability objecƟ ves.
o Prepare sales forecasts, budgets, and acƟ on plans for effecƟ ve business growth.
o Manage the enƟ re sales process from lead generaƟ on through to closing deals.
5. Networking and Industry Involvement:
o Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to
promote its services.
o Maintain an extensive network of contacts within the renewable energy sector.
6. Financial and Contract Management: o Assist in the negoƟ aƟ on and management of project contracts, ensuring that
financial and operaƟ onal objecƟ ves are met.
o Monitor the financial performance of projects and ensure profitability is maintained.
7. Regulatory and Compliance Oversight:
o Stay updated with industry regulaƟ ons, government policies, and compliance
requirements related to solar energy projects.
o Ensure all business acƟ viƟ es comply with legal and regulatory standards.
QualificaƟ ons:
Bachelor’s degree in Business AdministraƟ on, Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related
field.
MBA or relevant cerƟ ficaƟ on in project management or renewable energy is preferred.
5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or project management in the solar
or renewable energy industry.
Strong understanding of solar EPC project lifecycles and business models.
Proven track record of securing large-scale projects and achieving revenue targets.
Excellent communicaƟ on, negoƟ aƟ on, and presentaƟ on skills.
Ability to build and maintain relaƟ onships with key stakeholders.
Key Skills:
Knowledge of renewable energy markets and solar technologies.
Strong financial and contract management skills.
Strategic thinking with strong analyƟ cal abiliƟ es.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, compeƟƟ ve environment.
