Job description:

This facility is a highly automated meat processing/packaging facility located in Kansas City, KS. This position works 12 hour shifts; 6 am- 6pm, or 6 pm - 6 am. Rotating two week schedule with a 3 day weekend off (Friday, Saturday Sunday) every other week.

Responsibilities:

• Performing and consulting on robust preventative maintenance and refrigeration repairs.
• Expertly performing emergency mechanical or electrical repairs, and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, pump, pressure, and hydraulic plant equipment.
• Understanding boiler theory, RETA Operator I, and IIAR Basic NH3 Refrigeration schematics will be required for this role.
• Must be able to pass a HAZ-Mat physical and pass the training to be certified as an Emergency Responder Technician Level and participate on the Emergency Response Team.
• Must assist and support training and development of more junior Refrigeration Technicians.
• Also responsible for minimizing downtime due to equipment and system failure.
• Other duties as assigned.

Skills:

• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 75 lbs. occasionally
• Ability to stand on hard surface for up to 12 hours per day
• Ability to work in confined and tall spaces, walk, climb, utilize a ladder, operate a lift, bend and stoop
• Repetitive gripping, pushing and pulling
• Frequent overhead work
• Temperatures inside plant may vary from -25 degrees to over 100 degrees; outside work may be also be needed
• Basic math skills; percentages, fractions and measurements

Requirements:

• Minimum of 6 months industrial refrigeration experience, graduate of an industrial refrigeration program (I.E. possess a RETA 1 Operator License or Operator 1 License). Please list these on your application or resume.
• Must have Process Safety Management (PSM) experience.
• Knowledge of Industrial Maintenance including Pneumatics, PLC’s, Motor controls, and shop equipment operation desired.

What are the 3-4 non-negotiable requirements of this position?

Minimum of 6 months industrial refrigeration experience, graduate of an industrial refrigeration program (I.E. possess a RETA 1 Operator License or Operator 1 License). Please list these on your application or resume.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $26.00 - $35.00 per hour
