Job OverviewWe are seeking a Junior PRT English Teacher to join our educational team at Podar Education Network. This full-time role, based in Shimoga, requires candidates to have 1 to 3 years of relevant experience. The selected applicant will be responsible for teaching primary students, implementing effective classroom management strategies, and developing engaging lesson plans.


  • Qualifications and SkillsB.A/M.A degree in English (Mandatory skill)
  • B.ed degree (Mandatory skill)
  • Primary teaching experience (Mandatory skill)
  • Proficiency in classroom management to create a conducive learning environment for young learners.
  • Ability to design and implement lesson plans that effectively address the curriculum and students’ learning needs.
  • Strong communication skills for engaging with parents and collaborating with colleagues to support student development.
  • Experience in literacy intervention strategies to support students in developing essential reading and writing skills.
  • Adaptability to work with diverse classroom settings and tailor teaching methods to meet individual student needs.


  • Roles and ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement lesson plans that meet the individual and group needs of students in accordance with the curriculum guidelines.
  • Manage classroom activities and maintain a supportive learning environment that fosters student engagement and academic achievement.
  • Assess and monitor students’ progress through assessments, reports, and regular feedback.
  • Utilize creative and innovative teaching methods to enhance student learning and comprehension of English language concepts.
  • Foster a positive relationship with students and encourage their participation in classroom discussions and activities.
  • Communicate regularly with parents to discuss their child’s progress and address any concerns promptly.
  • Participate in professional development sessions to stay updated on educational practices and techniques.
  • Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to support school initiatives and enhance the educational experience.
