Job Overview:

The Conventional Underwriter is responsible for reviewing, conditioning, and underwriting mortgage loans in adherence to established policies, procedures, and applicable guidelines. The role involves a thorough examination of documentation for accuracy and completeness. The ideal candidate will have expertise in live underwriting with a focus on real-time analysis, possess excellent skills in income and Debt-to-Income (DTI) ratio calculation, and be well-versed in the 4Cs framework (Credit, Capacity, Collateral, and Capital). Familiarity with credit report analysis, Letter of Explanation (LOX), and knowledge of residential mortgage components are essential for success in this role.

Key Required Skills:

- Experience in live underwriting, real-time analysis.

- Proficiency in income calculation and DTI ratio calculation.

- Expertise in the 4Cs framework (Credit, Capacity, Collateral, and Capital).

- Familiarity with credit report analysis and Letter of Explanation (LOX).

- Knowledge of residential mortgage components, credit bureau, and documents required for loan approval.

Qualifications :

- Degree or Equivalent.

- Recent 2+ years of experience in live underwriting.

- Minimum 4 years of experience in conventional/government end-to-end underwriting.

- Well-versed with all 4Cs of underwriting (Asset, Income, Credit, and Collateral).

- Understanding of the US Mortgage Process (Night Shifts).
