Position Overview:

OtterMap is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Human Resources Intern to join our dynamic team for a 3-month paid internship. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of HR while contributing to meaningful projects that impact our organization's success. As an HR Intern, you will work closely with our HR team to support recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and other essential functions. This role is ideal for someone eager to learn, adaptable, and passionate about making a difference in the workplace.

Key Responsibilities:

Recruitment Support: Assist with phone screening of candidates, reviewing resumes, and drafting job descriptions. Coordinate recruitment activities and schedule interviews.

Onboarding Assistance: Help facilitate the onboarding process for new hires by preparing paperwork, conducting orientations, and ensuring a smooth transition into the organization. Collaborate with team members to improve the onboarding experience and promote employee engagement.

Employee Relations: Provide support in addressing employee inquiries, concerns, and requests. Assist with maintaining employee records, updating databases, and ensuring compliance with HR policies and procedures. Contribute to fostering a positive work environment and promoting a culture of inclusivity and diversity.

HR Projects: Participate in special HR projects and initiatives aimed at improving organizational effectiveness, employee satisfaction, and overall HR processes. Contribute creative ideas and assist with project implementation as needed.

Learning and Development: Take advantage of opportunities for personal and professional growth by actively participating in training sessions, workshops, and networking events. Seek feedback from mentors and supervisors to enhance skills and knowledge in HR practices.

Qualifications:

Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field.

Good communication skills and fluency in English.

Ability to conduct phone screenings and screen resumes effectively.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data management and analysis.

Experience or familiarity with drafting job descriptions is a plus.

Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Duration and Compensation:

This is a 3-month paid internship position with the possibility of extension based on performance and business needs. The internship offers opportunities for academic credit, depending on the requirements of the educational institution.
