Job Description:

We seek a skilled Manager who will be responsible for ensuring the timely arrangement of containers for shipments, reducing costs, and maintaining an efficient documentation processes. The ideal candidate will have strong negotiation skills, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate with various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Arrange timely shipment of containers for export orders in compliance with shipping regulations and customer requirements.
• Monitor shipment schedules, track shipments and resolve any issues that may arise during transit.
• Obtain freight rates from at least 5 freight forwarding agents and negotiate to secure the best rates. Be up to date with freight rates always.
• Maintain relationships with the freight forwarding agents and continuously assess their performance.
• Develop and maintain relationships with customs house agents (CHA) for smooth clearance procedures.
• Explore and onboard new freight forwarding agents when necessary to optimize cost and service.
• Coordinate within the Company for organic documentation required for customs clearance.
• Ensure all necessary documentation is prepared accurately and in a timely manner for each shipment.
• Organize timely delivery of containers for loading and ensure loading readiness.
• Coordinate with buyers regarding required documents and keep them informed about shipment status.
• Verify freight forwarding and customs house agent invoices for accuracy and approve for payment.

Desired Candidate Profile:-

• Post-graduate / Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Post-graduate preferred.
• Proven experience in shipping, logistics, or supply chain management.
• Ability to manage a team
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize workload.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of international shipping regulations and customs procedures.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
• Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to resolving issues.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
