NV5 Mission Critical is a division of NASDAQ-listed engineering consultancy NV5. Our Mission Critical division is a dynamic and growing unit that specialises in the field of design, due diligence reviews and enhanced testing and commissioning of mechanical and electrical systems and Mission Critical Applications such as data centres and banking. Sr.HVAC Design Engineer – Chennai Location                                                                                              

Roles and Responsibilities

• Strong background in managing the HVAC design process on large scale projects, includes mission critical projects, Data Centre projects, Commercial building.
• Well versed in terms of codes and standards, includes ASHRAE, CIBSE, NFPA, BSRIA, etc.,
• Analysis the various HVAC design options with its life cycle cost, pros and cons, then recommend the client for appropriate options.
• Ability to check and ensure the HVAC design calculation / process and drawings done by team in terms of relevant codes and standards prior to issue them to client.
• Preparation of control schematic and sequence of operation.
• Good experience in addressing Client queries.
• Proficiency in English language for technical report writing, report study, analysis, writing e-mails and oral communication.
• Maintain good technical knowledge of the industry and relevant M&E design and industry standards.
• Maintain good relationships and communication with colleagues, Clients, and other stakeholders.

Preferred candidate profile

• Candidates should be from Design Consultancy not from Construction or Contracting Company.
• Good Knowledge on relevant Data Centre codes (e.g., TIA, Uptime, ASHRAE TC 9.9 etc.) would be a distinct advantage.
• Experience in using software such as HAP, Pipe sizing, Duct.
• Experience in managing multiple projects would be an advantage.

Qualification and experience

• Degree level education in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
• Minimum of 11 to 16 years professional experience in design consultancy and contracting.
• Good knowledge & Experience in Mechanical Design
• Experience in developing Mechanical calculations, specifications, BOQs, schemes, drawings, Basis of design, sequence of operations etc.
• Good Knowledge on relevant Data Centre codes (e.g. TIA, Uptime, ASHRAE TC 9.9 etc.) would be a distinct advantage.
• Computer literate and have experience of using industry relevant design software such as CAD, BIM, AMTECH, ETAP, DIALux etc.
• Hands on experience in a Client-facing role.
