Responsibilities :                                                                                                                                                      

i Responsible for round the clock care of patients entrusted to you on the floor.

ii You should always know where the patients are. Be watchful at all the time. Never leave the patient unattended at any given time.

iii When any of your patients goes to any other floor, you should inform the Centre Manager at once.

iv Never leave the patient unattended at any given time.

v Take every opportunity to communicate with the patients with a smile.

vi Be polite, compassionate and caring at all times.

vii Ensure that the patient is well groomed every day Bathe and shave the patient.

viii Ensure to maintain the personal hygiene of the patients. You are responsible for changing diapers for patients as and when required.

ix Ensure the catheter is not pulled after changing patient’s diaper.

x Responsible for taking the patients to go to the washroom as and when required.

xi Bedridden patients are to be assisted in giving bed pans.

xii Responsible for bed making and changing linen as and when required.

xiii  Ensure to change the patients clothing when soiled and responsible for sending soil clothing for laundry. Ensure to receive the clothes back & keep accurate account of patient’s linen.

xiv Ensure that the patients clothing, bed and surroundings are kept neat and clean.

xv Check if the water bottles are clean and ensure the water is changed every day & adequate water is available.

xvi Ensure the patient is given right diet as per their diet chart prescribed by the Doctor/ Physician

xvii Keep a watch on the eating habits of the patient also find out if the food needs to be blended or mashed. If the food bought is in excess or less kindly inform the Centre Manager

xviii Ensure that patients do not fall or wander alone.

xix The Centre Manager should be informed when you go for lunch / wash room break and make sure that you hand over the responsibility to another Nursing Aide.

xxi If you are responsible for taking care of two or more patients please ensure that you keep a constant check on all the patients at regular intervals.

xxii Make sure the bed rails are up if the patient is sleeping.

xxiii If any furniture is broken or lights need to be replaced, it is to be informed to the Centre Manager

xxiv You should report to the Centre Manager on daily basis.

xxv When you find any abnormal behaviour with any patient you should immediately report it to the floor In Charge.

xxvi You should report to the Centre Manager for all the administrative related matters.

xxvii You must take proper handover about your patients details from the staff in previous shift, such as if they have slept, eaten or any behaviour that need to be watched.

xxviii Before starting you shift, make sure that the bed room, the furniture’s & patients clothing are clean and tidy.

xxix Check Patients cupboard for linen and ensure that all the patients clothing have name tag. Return the patients clothing if found in the wrong cupboard.

xxx Make sure you come to duty well-groomed and in uniform. You should maintain short nails, hair should be tied neatly. & wear appropriate foot wear. Also make sure you talk politely to both patients and staff. Do not Scream or speak in loud voice.

xxxi Ensure that you are fully aware of the patient’s history and for more information you are required to collect the same from the Centre Manager.

xxxii You are not supposed to disclose any information about the patients to their relatives. For all information regarding the health and treatment of the inmate only the Centre Manager is allowed to discuss with the patients relatives if required.

xxxiii You should not use your mobile phones during working hours. People can contact you at the front desk number.

xxxiv You should inform your leave 24 hours in advance to the Centre Manager
