Data Migration Specialist is responsible for executing and managing data migration processes across various platforms within the telecom OSS/BSS domain. This role involves data parsing, analysis, and transformation across multiple systems, including Oracle. The ideal candidate will be quick to grasp new database structures and topologies, ensuring efficient and accurate data migration in a dynamic environment.

Required Experience:

• Minimum of 10+ years of experience in data migration, with hands-on experience across various platforms, including Oracle. Experience in telecom OSS/BSS environments is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in data migration methodologies and tools, including ETL processes and data mapping.
• Strong understanding of database systems, structures, and SQL.
• Experience with data parsing, analysis, and transformation.
• Ability to quickly grasp and adapt to new database systems and topologies.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Data Management, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in data management or migration are advantageous.

Job Description

Must Have-

Data Migration Planning and Execution:

• Develop and execute data migration strategies and plans, including data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) across different platforms.
• Manage the full lifecycle of data migration projects, from initial planning through to deployment and post-migration validation.

Data Parsing and Analysis:

• Conduct detailed analysis of source data, including parsing and understanding data structures, relationships, and quality.
• Identify and resolve data quality issues, inconsistencies, and transformation challenges during the migration process.
• Develop data mapping and transformation rules to ensure accurate conversion and integration of data between systems.

Database Interaction:

• Work with various database systems, including Oracle, to perform data extraction, manipulation, and loading tasks.
• Quickly understand and navigate database schemas, tables, and relationships to facilitate efficient data migration.
• Utilize SQL and other database tools to manage and interact with data effectively.

System Adaptability:

• Adapt rapidly to new database systems, topologies, and technologies, leveraging experience to quickly understand and operate within new environments.
• Apply knowledge of telecom OSS/BSS systems to ensure smooth migration processes.

• Documentation and Reporting:
• Document data migration processes, including mapping, transformation rules, and quality checks.

Troubleshooting and Support:

• Troubleshoot and resolve data migration issues and errors promptly.
• Offer support and guidance to project teams and stakeholders throughout the migration process.
