Position Overview: The Asset Management Specialist will be responsible for tracking, managing, and securing all cybersecurity assets within the organization. This role involves maintaining accurate asset records, ensuring compliance with security standards, and supporting the overall cybersecurity strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

Asset Tracking:

  • Maintain an accurate inventory of all cybersecurity assets, including hardware, software, and licenses.
  • Implement and manage asset tracking systems and tools.

Asset Security:

  • Ensure all assets comply with cybersecurity policies and standards.
  • Implement security measures to protect assets from threats and vulnerabilities.

Lifecycle Management:

  • Manage the lifecycle of assets from acquisition to disposal.
  • Plan and coordinate asset refresh cycles and upgrades.

Compliance and Auditing:

  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
  • Prepare and conduct regular audits of asset management processes and records.

Documentation:

  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of all assets, including configuration details, warranties, and maintenance records.
  • Develop and update asset management policies and procedures.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with IT, procurement, and cybersecurity teams to ensure asset needs are met.
  • Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to manage asset procurement and maintenance.

Reporting:

  • Generate regular reports on asset status, utilization, and compliance.
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on asset data analysis.

Incident Response:

  • Assist in the investigation and resolution of incidents involving cybersecurity assets.
  • Ensure rapid response and recovery of compromised assets.

Risk Management:

  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with asset management.
  • Develop and implement strategies to minimize asset-related vulnerabilities.

Training and Support:

  • Provide training and support to staff on asset management policies and tools.
  • Ensure all users understand their roles in maintaining asset security.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cyber Security, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience:
  • Proven experience in asset management, preferably within the cybersecurity domain.
  • Strong understanding of IT asset management tools and best practices.
  • Skills:
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency with asset management software and tools.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and standards.
  • Certifications:
  • Relevant certifications such as ITIL, CISSP, or equivalent are preferred.
