POSITION SUMMARY:

With minimal direction, the Junior to Mid-Level QA Tester is responsible for the testing of internal applications. The QA Tester has an interest in quality assurance of software applications and is not easily frustrated by repetitive tasks. The successful candidate will have a good understanding of quality assurance methodologies. Testing is focused on ensuring that projects and products meet system quality standards by planning, designing, and executing the appropriate test cases.

The QA Tester will be expected to help develop and execute test automation scripts. He/She will develop and continuously improve automated tests as new system features and enhancements are developed. The QA Tester will write test cases and execute the test cases to log defects and report results. The QA Tester is required to execute project deliverables and tasks on time and on budget to support profitable and high-quality delivery.

• Performs quality assurance analysis and testing of complex internal and third-party business applications.

• Creates, implements, and executes manual/automated test cases.

• Reviews and analyzes business requirements, systems requirements, and specifications documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback.

• Creates detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test scenarios.

• Estimates, prioritizes, plans and coordinates testing activities.

• Creates, implements, and executes manual test cases.

• Ability to direct toward root cause analysis of issues and to clearly communicate findings.

• Identifies defects in multiple environments and throughout all phases of the development life cycle.

• Log bugs and defects in JIRA.

• Coordinates with appropriate resources to ensure proper tracking and resolution of all defects.

• Researches and proactively recommends improvements for testing tools and techniques.

• Prepares reports as needed using available information and data.

Must have:

• 2-6 years of experience as a QA Tester.

• Minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent education or work experience

• 1-3 years of developing automated test scripts using Selenium, AccelQ or similar testing tool.

• Ability to work as part of a high-performance team in a fast-paced environment with minimal requirements.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Black box testing experience.

• Strong multitask skills, understanding of SDLC, and ability to meet aggressive schedules.

• Strong defect identification, triaging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

• Detail-oriented and thorough in testing assignments.

• Ability to take initiative and proactively offer suggestions and resolutions.

• Passion for delivering business value and willingness to perform other assigned tasks.

• Ability to deliver regular quick updates, system solutions, and communicate issues to team QA Lead.

Preferred:

• API testing experience.

• Back-end (SQL) testing experience.
