Job description

Roles and Responsibilities Oversee functioning of the accounts and finance departments, co-ordination with accounts & taxation service providers, auditors and other agencies and ensure their smooth operation of the department.

1. Accounts & Reports

1.1. Overseeing the daily activities of the accounts department and ensuring that all major month-end, year-end and other periodic or special reports are completed accurately and on time.

1.2. Maintenance of Cash, Bank, Sales & Fixed Assets Accounting.

1.3. Supervise the work of agencies to whom the bookkeeping function has been outsourced, and ensure correctness of the work.

1.4. Monitor general ledger, accounts receivables, accounts payables and other records.

1.5. Preparing schedule of payments on weekly basis, or as instructed by the management, and present it to the management for approval.

1.6. Monitor and manage the month-end accounting processes.

1.7. Ensure proper documentation and filing

1.8. Maintaining accurate and complete accounting and financial records and participating in audits or reconciliations, as required.

2. Banking Operation

2.1. Responsible for standard banking activities such as cheque deposits, cash withdrawals, payment processing

2.2. Submission of documents related to inward and outward foreign exchange remittances, LC documents, etc.

2.3. Ensure reconciliation of Bank accounts and other accounts.

2.4. Preparation of stock and other statements, as required and submission to the bank as and when required.

2.5. Maintain good working relationship with the bank manager and related persons

2.6. Resolve bank account related queries, questions, etc., if any

3. Statutory Compliances

3.1. Monitor and supervise statutory compliances like timely payments, filing of returns, etc. under various statutes like GST, Income Tax, Wealth Tax, etc.

3.2. Compliances under the Customs Act, FEMA, etc.

3.3. Assist in compilation of information and documentation for various assessments under the Income tax Act, GST, Service Tax, etc.

3.4. Submission of necessary data to the Company Secretary for ROC and other submissions

3.5. Co-ordination with auditors and service providers for above activity

4. Budget & MIS

4.1. Assist in preparation of annual budget

4.2. Prepare periodical MIS reports, such as cash flow statement, variance analysis, etc.

4.3. Preparing monthly costing data

5. Payroll

5.1. Checking monthly payroll prepared by the service provider

5.2. Accounting of the payroll as per statutory provisions

6. Audits

6.1. Providing data and information required for internal and statutory audits

6.2. Resolving queries raised by internal and statutory auditors in a timely fashion

6.3. Ensuring timely completion of audit

6.4. Representing the company for statutory and other audits

7. Others

7.1. Ensuring timely renewal of insurance policies

7.2. Preparing invoices and e-way bills

8. Any other task that may be assigned from time to time.
