JOB PURPOSE 

The Product Owner is responsible for:

  • The incumbent must be self-motivated with project management experience, knowledge of the technologies used to support BI/Analytical standard tools, a broad knowledge of Lines of Business and enterprise wide processes. The incumbent works closely with the key partners (LOBs, External Contractors, Information Security, Risk Management, Corporate Services and Vendors) and working team to ensure that business/client issues are well planned, understood, and addressed.
  • As a Product Owner the incumbent will be responsible to create an end-to-end delivery of strategies as well as managing governance in support of Microsoft Power Platform
  • Provide guidance, extract requirements, subject matter expertise and specialized knowledge/advice to internal clients in the area of effective management of standard BI/Analytical tools with focus on Power Platform
  • Represent and consult on a wide range of enterprise initiatives related to Microsoft Services. The successful candidate will ensure recommendations can be effective and efficient over the long term and meet the business objectives.


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

 

  • Be the owner of Microsoft Power Platform encompassing the responsibilities as a center of excellence hub for the other lines of businesses.

 

  • Contribute to the governance activities and future roadmap development of the Power Platform services

 

  • Communicate and capture requirements from internal clients to assist with analytical tools enablement

 

  • Assist the working team and partners to effectively guide through setting up Enterprise standards and governance

 

  • Provide subject matter expertise on strategic as well as departmental initiatives such as Microsoft Power Platform service rollouts, software upgrades, test and learn initiatives, assessment of new tools & technologies, etc.

 

  • Provide leadership in requirements gathering and designing Power Platform self-serve rollout strategy, end user training roadmap by working closely with the partners, liaising with various lines of businesses, analytical groups, user base, technology, PMO change management, and vendors.

 

  • Identify opportunities to automate, streamline processes that will bring in efficiency in reporting and analytical environments, lessen manual intervention and increase end user efficiency.

 

  • Provide expertise and partner with key stakeholders for BI analytics and self-service improvements to deliver faster value for our internal clients.

 

  • Lead and partner with Technology, Enterprise Architecture, and other business groups with a focus of fostering BI/Analytics research & innovation culture

 

  • Work closely with the working team to manage ongoing projects while assisting by identifying next steps, risks, issues, and dependencies

The Consultant, Enterprise Analytics Enablement collaborates with peers and executives both inside and outside the work unit.

  • As a key contributor to the business unit, this job has the authority to recommend changes to business processes in order to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.


JOB DIMENSIONS

 

  • Maintaining a long term focus while ensuring that the daily base-service responsibilities of the department are developed, maintained and improved.
  • Remaining current in the knowledge of internal / external approaches to BI, Analytics tools and industry standards. Ensuring that the solutions developed and recommendations provided are in-line with corporate direction and the methodologies employed by other lines of business.
  • Educating internal clients and other lines of business on the department’s objectives and activities; representing and promoting the department’s approach to tool standardization
  • Balancing a corporate, enterprise-wide perspective with specific business needs in the development of the business unit’s strategy and implementation options. Ensuring the implications for corporate governance are considered, and that the reliability and objectivity of information is evaluated.


KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

What we’re looking for:

 

  • Very good knowledge & understanding of Microsoft Power Platform, O365, Azure, and networking knowledge of hybrid on-prem and cloud based solutions.

 

  • Practical knowledge of COE toolkit and integrated Microsoft services in the Power Platform and Microsoft Fabric space.

 

  • Practical and theoretical knowledge in the area of Data Management, Big Data, BI Reporting and data analytics, including exposure to principles, practices, governance, procedures, change management, products and services.

 

  • Prior knowledge and experience of handling application releases, operational management, data governance, process management, and project management

 

  • Project planning, management and scheduling skills sufficient to prioritize projects and meet project deadlines and budget.

 

  • Presentation/interactive/analytical skills sufficient to convey both factual and conceptual information (including presentation to executives)

 

  • Hands-on experience and understanding of Business Intelligence and Analytical tool(s) from a business/end-user standpoint. Preferred candidate will have experience in successful implementation and/or delivery of Power Platform with particular focus in Automate, Apps, Pages and Virtual Agent

 

  • Prior experience of working closely with technology groups; familiarity of enterprise wide technology, architectural, change, project management policies and methodologies

 

  • Business analysis and consulting skills to precisely articulate & understand business requirements and ideas that involve interpretation, analysis and assessment.

 

  • Influencing skills sufficient to obtain support of executive level management and elicit cooperation and consensus form business leaders in the implementation of programs and in situations that involve the promotion of our client’s interests.

 

  • Act as an owner with the ability to adapt and take initiative
