JD – Advanced Quality Engineer
Core Responsibilities Include:
• Handle quality activities for the entire NPD phase of a project
• Create quality plan, perform risk assessment, and propose solutions
• Work closely with other stakeholders to develop & monitor PFMEAs, control plans
• Work closely with plant quality team and align with them for various project activities
• Determine PPAP levels, review with internal stakeholders & communicate with supplier & take part until PSW
• Supplier PPAP validation & approval
• Supplier audit, visit for quality issues
• Perform supplier assessment & take part in new supplier on-boarding along with other stakeholders
• Provide technical expertise and leadership for the timely resolution of manufacturing process and product design problems. Serve as a resource for cause / effect analyses, investigations, statistical studies, and corrective action planning
• Handle quality activities with multiple plants & with different product ranges
• Support engineering Team & suppliers in new technology projects
Essential Skills and/or Knowledge:
• New product development understanding.
• Knowledge of quality at the source and design for manufacturing/assembly techniques.
• PPAP experience & supplier audits
• Good planning and organization/work management skills.
• Familiarity with 3D Modeling software, 2D drawings, PLM System, and project scheduling
• Aptitude for mechanical/electrical application as related to equipment/processes.
• Problem assessment and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with Six Sigma and other analytical processes.
• Strong knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA)
• Lean Manufacturing knowledge
• Knowledge of TS16949, ISO45001/OHSAS18001
• Understanding of ISO14001
• Knowledge of measurement techniques
• Metrology, Inspection Methods, and Equipment
• Understanding and interpretation of engineering drawings
• Understanding manufacturing processes
• Ability to work in a diverse and dynamic environment
• Planning and prioritizing activities
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
Qualification:
• Bachelors or master’s in Mechanical / Production / Automobile / Other related disciplines.
• Person shall be fluent in written and spoken English.
Desired experience:
• 3 to 7 year of experience in hard core plant quality operation, supplier quality management or quality management in new product development cycle.
• Shop floor & engineering experience
• Process engineering background
• Experience in Air Compressor, Automobile, Aero Space, or other related industry will be preferred.
• Person shall be well knowledgeable and experienced in APQP, PAPP process, Supplier quality management, ISO / TS Management Systems, root cause analysis, inspection tools and processes etc.
• Person also shall have hands on experience on using 3D and 2D drawings, PLM System and project scheduling.
