Job Overview

Mere Mentor is seeking a dedicated and experienced School Career Counsellor to join our mid-level team in Chennai on a full-time basis. The ideal candidate will assist students in making informed career decisions by utilizing our innovative assessment systems and methodologies. The role demands collaboration with students, parents, and educational stakeholders to optimize career pathways and satisfaction.


Qualifications and Skills

A bachelor's or master's degree in counseling, or psychology Relevant certifications in career counseling or career development (e.g., National Certified Counselor, Certified Career Counselor) may be preferred. 

  • Min 1+ years of experience in career counseling or related roles is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. 
  • Empathetic, patient, and non-judgmental attitude 
  • Proficiency in using career assessment tools and counseling software.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality. 
  • Flexibility and adaptability in working with diverse client populations
  • With Excellent communication and public speaking skills.
  • Proficiency in providing career guidance to students and helping them explore suitable career paths (Mandatory skill).
  • Experience in student counseling, including one-on-one and group counseling sessions to address academic and career concerns (Mandatory skill).
  • Strong skills in psychological assessment to interpret career aptitude tests and align with suitable occupations (Mandatory skill).
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and educators.
  • Ability to develop comprehensive career development plans tailored to individual student needs.


Roles and Responsibilities

  • Conduct career assessments and provide meaningful feedback to students and their guardians about career choices.
  • Facilitate one-on-one counseling sessions focusing on student career interests and capabilities.
  • Utilize Mere Mentor’s AI-based assessment tools for accurate career guidance.
  • Maintain updated records of students interactions and track progress during the counseling process.
  • Regularly update and adapt counseling methods to incorporate the latest developments in career guidance.
