Job Description: Career Counselor
As a Career Counselor, you will provide career guidance and counselling services to individuals seeking assistance in making informed career decisions. Your role is crucial in helping clients identify their strengths, interests, and goals, and in guiding them toward suitable educational and career paths. This is a contract-based position, and you will work with clients on a short-term basis, providing expert advice and support.

Key Responsibilities
- Individual Counseling or Group Counselling
- Conduct one-on-one or group counseling sessions with clients to assess their skills, interests, and career aspirations.
- Evaluate clients' educational backgrounds, work experiences, and personal circumstances to identify potential career paths.
- Assist clients in setting realistic career goals and developing action plans to achieve them.
- Research and Information:
- Stay updated on current labor market trends, job opportunities, and educational programs.
- Provide clients with accurate and up-to-date information on career options, industry-specific requirements, and job search strategies.
- Education and Training Options:
- Recommend appropriate educational and training programs, courses, or certifications that align with clients' career goals.
- Facilitate connections with educational institutions and training providers.
- Record Keeping and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions and progress.
- Prepare reports on counseling activities and outcomes as required.
- Professional Development:
- Stay informed about developments in career counseling and related fields through continuous learning and training.
Qualifications
- A Master's degree in counseling, psychology
- Relevant certifications in career counseling or career development (e.g., National Certified Counselor, Certified Career Counselor) may be preferred.
- Previous experience in career counseling or related roles is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Empathetic, patient, and non-judgmental attitude.
- Proficiency in using career assessment tools and counseling software.
- Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality.
- Flexibility and adaptability in working with diverse client populations.
