Position Overview:

The Business Development Executive is responsible for actively promoting and selling a company's products or services to potential customers in their designated geographical area. This role requires a dynamic and results-oriented individual who can build and maintain customer relationships while achieving sales goals/targets. In the case of our company the sales representative is required to visit colleges for Business to Business collaborations. 


Roles and Responsibilities:


  • Prospecting: Apart from the leads provided by the company, identify/research potential clients and leads within the assigned territory and create a list of prospective customers and prioritize them based on their potential value.

 

  •  Customer Engagement: Initiate contact with potential businesses through cold calls, emails, or in-person visits. Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers and understand customers' needs and provide them with product or service solutions.


  • Product Knowledge: Develop a deep understanding of the company's products or services and stay updated on new offerings and effectively communicate the features and benefits of the products to potential customers and address queries and doubts of customers professionally and persuasively.

 

  • Sales Presentations: Deliver compelling sales presentations and demonstrations to showcase the value of the company's offerings.

 

  • Sales Goals: Set and meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets and earn performance bonus and develop and implement sales strategies to achieve and surpass targets.

 

  • Territory Management: Organize and manage your sales territory efficiently and plan and prioritize visits to maximize sales opportunities.

 

  • Reporting: Maintain accurate records of sales activities, including customer interactions, sales calls, sale orders and prepare and submit regular sales reports to management.


  • Market Research: Stay informed about market trends, competitor products, and industry developments. Provide feedback to the company regarding customer preferences and market demands.

 

  •   Travel: Be prepared for frequent travel within the assigned territory, which may include overnight stays.

Qualifications and Skills:

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent; a bachelor's degree in business or a related field may be preferred.
  • Proven experience in sales, preferably in a field sales role.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent negotiation and persuasion abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Familiarity with CRM software and sales tracking tools.
  • A valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory.
  • Self-motivated and goal-oriented.
