Job Description:


Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Statutory Auditor with significant experience working within a Chartered Accountant (CA) firm. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of auditing principles and regulations. The Statutory Auditor will be responsible for conducting thorough audits of financial statements, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, and providing valuable insights to clients.


Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Audits: Perform detailed examinations of financial statements, accounting records, and internal control systems to ensure accuracy and compliance with statutory regulations and accounting standards.
  • Risk Assessment: Identify and assess potential risks related to financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance issues. Develop strategies to mitigate risks and improve processes.
  • Compliance Verification: Verify compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and guidelines, including taxation laws, Companies Act, and other statutory requirements.
  • Client Interaction: Communicate effectively with clients to gather necessary information, explain audit findings, and address any concerns or queries.
  • Audit Planning: Develop comprehensive audit plans, including scope, objectives, and timelines. Coordinate with audit team members to allocate resources effectively.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Prepare detailed audit workpapers, findings reports, and management letters highlighting areas for improvement and recommendations. Ensure timely submission of audit reports to relevant stakeholders.
  • Quality Assurance: Maintain high standards of quality and professionalism in all audit engagements. Review workpapers and audit documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with auditing standards.
  • Continuing Education: Stay updated on changes in auditing standards, regulations, and industry trends. Participate in training programs and professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with colleagues within the audit team and other departments to share insights, best practices, and lessons learned. Foster a culture of teamwork, respect, and excellence.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients based on trust, integrity, and reliability. Provide value-added services and strategic advice to help clients achieve their business objectives.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Inter CA or Chartered Accountant (CA) with relevant experience.
  • Minimum five years of experience working in a reputable CA firm, focusing on statutory audits.
  • In-depth knowledge of auditing standards, accounting principles, and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality, integrity, and ethical standards.
