Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Used Car Manager to join our dynamic automobile sales team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in automotive sales, a deep understanding of used car market trends, and exceptional leadership skills. As a Used Car Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire used car department, managing inventory, implementing effective sales strategies, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

  1. Inventory Management:
  • Acquire and maintain a diverse and high-quality inventory of used cars through auctions, trade-ins, and other sources.
  • Conduct regular assessments of market trends to adjust inventory levels and pricing accordingly.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and appearance of all used cars in the lot.
  1. Sales Leadership:
  • Lead and motivate the used car sales team to achieve sales targets and maximize profitability.
  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to increase used car sales and market share.
  • Provide ongoing training and support to sales staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  1. Customer Satisfaction:
  • Ensure a positive customer experience by maintaining high standards of customer service.
  • Resolve customer issues and inquiries promptly and effectively.
  • Implement and monitor customer feedback mechanisms to drive improvements in service.
  1. Financial Management:
  • Develop and manage budgets for the used car department, ensuring financial goals are met or exceeded.
  • Analyze financial reports to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  1. Marketing and Promotions:
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and implement effective marketing strategies for used cars.
  • Plan and execute promotional events to drive traffic to the dealership and increase used car sales.
  1. Compliance:
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to used car sales.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, legal issues, and changes in market conditions.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Used Car Manager or in a similar role within the automotive industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of the used car market, pricing strategies, and industry trends.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to analyze financial reports and make data-driven decisions.
  • Customer-focused with a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
  • Familiarity with relevant laws and regulations governing used car sales.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (preferred).
  • Previous experience in automotive sales and management roles.
