Position Title: Production and Planning Manager
Location: Madurai
Department: Production
Reports To: Plant Manager and MD
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Production and Planning Manager to oversee our production operations and planning activities. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing production schedules, coordinating 4M planning (Man, Machine, Material, Method), driving cost reduction initiatives, managing manpower effectively, and providing exceptional client support. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Production Management:
• Oversee daily production activities to ensure efficiency and timely delivery of products.
• Implement and monitor production schedules to meet customer demands and deadlines.
• Ensure adherence to quality standards and safety regulations.
2. Planning and Scheduling:
• Develop and maintain production plans, schedules, and forecasts.
• Coordinate with other departments to align production plans with sales and inventory goals.
• Manage and optimize the use of resources (4M: Man, Machine, Material, Method) to maximize productivity.
3. Cost Reduction:
• Identify and implement cost-saving measures in production processes.
• Monitor and control production costs to meet budgetary requirements.
• Analyze production data to identify areas for improvement and efficiency gains.
4. Manpower Management:
• Supervise and manage production staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluation.
• Develop and implement strategies for workforce optimization and productivity improvement.
• Foster a positive and motivating work environment.
5. Client Support:
• Work closely with the sales and customer service teams to understand client needs and expectations.
• Ensure timely communication and resolution of client concerns related to production and delivery.
• Maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
6. Continuous Improvement:
• Implement and promote continuous improvement initiatives in production processes.
• Stay updated with industry trends and best practices to enhance production capabilities.
• Lead cross-functional teams to drive process improvements and innovation.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in production management and planning, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
• Proven track record of managing production schedules, optimizing resources, and driving cost reduction initiatives.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in production planning software and ERP systems.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
