KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS: A Project Manager is responsible for the implementation of railway signaling projects related to trackside signaling as well as onboard signaling and central train control projects. This includes pre-project scoping and planning, project implementation management with or without project administrative and site management staff. Project planning - Creating project schedules (in Microsoft Project format); - Planning project resource requirements; - Creating project budgets; - Generating project handbooks; - Creating project risk plans; Project management - Managing project execution against the project schedule; - Ensuring compliance with project requirements such as health and safety, quality control etc. through the appointed personnel for these functions - Regular project reporting - Project risk management, mitigation and escalation The Project Managers work closely with engineering design teams, suppliers, assembly teams, implementation teams, logistics and procurement personnel, finance personnel, the Program Manager, the Operations Manager, as well as having a close client interface on projects. SKILLS Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrate the ability to interact effectively with people and persuade them to a common end objective The successful candidates must be available to travel often
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE: A formal Project Management Qualification and/or degree in Engineering is preferred, but neither are essential A minimum of 6 years’ project management experience, of which at least 3 must have been gained in a railway signalling or IT or telecommunications environment. for 2 to 3 weeks at a time
