Job Summary:

The Collections Officer is responsible for contacting customers with overdue accounts, negotiating payment plans, and ensuring timely debt recovery. The role requires strong communication skills, persistence, and the ability to handle difficult conversations professionally.

Key Responsibilities:

• Contact customers via phone, email, and letters to collect outstanding payments.
• Maintain records of customer interactions, payment agreements, and collection efforts.
• Negotiate repayment plans that align with company policies.
• Follow up on payment commitments to ensure timely resolution.
• Investigate and resolve disputes related to overdue accounts.
• Collaborate with the finance and legal teams on escalated cases.
• Generate collection reports and update the management on delinquent accounts.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant legal regulations.

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, or a related field.
• 1-3 years of experience in collections, accounts receivable, or customer service.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to handle high-pressure situations and difficult conversations.
• Proficiency in MS Office and collections software.
• Knowledge of debt recovery laws and financial regulations is a plus.
