Skills
What we are looking for:
Engineering degree in Mechanical, Engineering & Plastic.
Total 10 years+’ experience out of which at least 5 years’ spent on product design & concept development of automotive plastic product (functional / appearance) specifically European OEMs – AUDI, BMW, VW, Porsche, Mercedes, PSA, Renault, JLR etc.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in CAD coordination and team management
International experience, Strong experience on vehicle Front and Rear End architectures, Knowledge of Automotive regulation related to Intelligent Exterior System product lines, Strong basics on Geometry for plastic parts
Experience on hierarchical and functional management, Leadership and influence skills, Cross-functional mind-set
Experience in Tier 1, OEM is preferred
Main Responsibilities:
People Management:
Manage CAD team performance and development
Support induction and development of new CAD team members
Assess skill level of team and propose plans to bridge gaps
Guarantee team competence alignment to project requirements
Identify training and mentoring needs
Ensure that Division HSE requirement are taken into consideration during the entire design
KNOW HOW:
Develop design for manufacturing mind-set
Responsible to apply and respect Plastic Omnium design methodology and department tools such as check list / communication STDs / Design task list / Lessons learnt / Quality Checks / Isostatism / stack up / Design review / Product 2D & 3D.
Propose optimised development tools and standards to Know How Product Performance Design department manager to improve performance and quality of deliverables at division level.
Participate to critical Design Reviews
Add-on responsibility as metier leader: Support and prepare Global CAD report at Division level
Active participation on workshops for reduction of Development hours
Commercial acumen:
Hours estimation in response to RFQ
Guarantee the Project budget convergence
Manage change of scope of work, perimeter changes in programs
Responsible for Cost to Non-Quality (CNQ) related to CAD (quality/utilisation)
Manages project loading for team and support other local peers for efficient work load balance
Networking:
Develop strong co-operation with Customer Engineering managers to adapt / adjust / update processes to improve efficiency towards customer processes and expectations
Anticipate, manage the subcontractors needs and provide plan to CAD department manager
Close co-operation to methodology department to implement Key golden rules into CAD
