As a Vulnerability Assessment Specialist, you will be responsible for identifying and evaluating potential vulnerabilities in an organization's systems, networks, and applications. You will work closely with the IT team to assess the organization's overall security posture and develop strategies to mitigate identified vulnerabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct vulnerability assessments on systems, networks, and applications.
• Identify and prioritize potential vulnerabilities based on severity and potential impact.
• Collaborate with the IT team to develop and implement strategies to mitigate identified vulnerabilities.
• Provide guidance to IT staff on security best practices and mitigation techniques.
• Stay up to date on the latest security threats and trends and advise the IT team on potential risks.
• Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and provide reports to management.
• Work with third-party vendors to evaluate their security posture and identify any potential vulnerabilities.
• Collaborate with the incident response team to develop incident response plans and provide support during incidents.
• Continuously evaluate and improve the vulnerability assessment program.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information security, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in vulnerability assessment or information security.
• Strong understanding of network security protocols, operating systems, and web applications.
• Experience with vulnerability scanning tools such as Nessus, Qualys, or OpenVAS.
• Knowledge of security standards and regulations such as ISO 27001, PCI DSS, and HIPAA.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CEH are preferred.
