Position Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Quantity Surveyor to join our pre-cast construction company. As a Junior Quantity Surveyor, you will work closely with our project team to assist in cost estimation, project budgeting, and quantity assessment for pre-cast construction projects. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the construction industry while contributing to the success of our projects.


Key Responsibilities:

1.     Quantity Assessment: Assist in accurately measuring and assessing the quantities of materials, labor, and equipment required for pre-cast construction projects.

2.     Cost Estimation: Collaborate with senior quantity surveyors to prepare accurate cost estimates, including material costs, labor costs, equipment costs, and overhead expenses.

3.     Project Budgeting: Contribute to the development and maintenance of project budgets by providing accurate quantity and cost data to support informed decision-making.

4.     Tender Analysis: Participate in the analysis of tender documents, drawings, and specifications to provide insights into the costs associated with potential projects.

5.     Vendor and Supplier Communication: Communicate with vendors and suppliers to obtain accurate pricing information for construction materials and equipment.

6.     Data Management: Maintain accurate records of quantity assessments, cost estimates, and project budgets using appropriate software tools.

7.     Project Coordination: Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure that quantity and cost information aligns with project requirements and objectives.

8.     Site Visits: Conduct site visits to gather information and assess progress, ensuring that quantity assessments and cost estimates are aligned with on-site conditions.

9.     Change Order Management: Assist in evaluating change orders and variations to determine their impact on project budgets and schedules.

10.  Reporting: Prepare regular reports on quantity assessment, cost estimation, and project budget status for review by senior management.

Qualifications and Requirements:

1.     Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.

2.     Strong understanding of construction materials, methods, and processes, particularly in pre-cast construction.

3.     Proficiency in quantity assessment techniques and cost estimation methods.

4.     Familiarity with construction industry standards, regulations, and codes.

5.     Excellent mathematical and analytical skills with attention to detail.

6.     Proficiency in using relevant software tools, such as Excel, cost estimating software, and project management tools.

7.     Effective communication skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams, vendors, and suppliers.

8.     Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
