Job Summary:
As a Construction Erection Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the erection phase of construction projects from start to finish. Your primary focus will be on the efficient and safe installation of structural elements, equipment, and systems according to the project plans and specifications. You will collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and construction teams to ensure timely delivery, quality, and adherence to safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Planning: Work with project managers and engineers during the planning phase to develop erection strategies, timelines, and resource allocation. Evaluate project requirements and ensure that materials, equipment, and personnel are available when needed.
2. Erection Execution: Oversee the execution of erection activities on-site, ensuring all work is carried out in compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and project specifications. Monitor progress and make adjustments to meet deadlines.
3. Team Management: Lead and supervise the erection team, including subcontractors, equipment operators, riggers, and other personnel. Provide guidance, training, and support to ensure effective teamwork and skill development.
4. Quality Control: Implement quality control measures to guarantee the proper installation of structural components and systems. Conduct inspections and ensure that all work meets the required standards.
5. Safety Compliance: Prioritize safety at all times. Establish and enforce safety protocols, conduct safety meetings, and ensure that all team members are equipped with the necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safety guidelines.
6. Material Coordination: Collaborate with procurement teams to ensure timely delivery of materials required for erection activities. Manage inventory and resolve any material-related issues.
7. Problem-solving: Identify and address any challenges or obstacles during the erection process. Develop innovative solutions to maintain productivity and overcome site-specific challenges.
8. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of erection activities, progress, and any incidents that occur on-site. Generate regular reports for project management and stakeholders.
9. Cost Management: Monitor erection costs and work to optimize resource utilization without compromising safety or quality.
10. Communication: Foster effective communication between different stakeholders, including project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and construction teams. Keep all parties informed about project progress, changes, and potential risks.
Requirements:
· Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
· Proven experience as a construction erection manager or similar role in the construction industry.
· Strong knowledge of construction practices, codes, and regulations related to erection work.
· Excellent leadership and team management skills.
· Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
· Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office suite.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Demonstrated commitment to safety and quality control.
· Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
· Willingness to travel to various construction sites as required.
