Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled VFX Tracking Artist with extensive experience in SynthEyes and Maya to join our talented visual effects team. As a VFX Tracking Artist, you will play a crucial role in seamlessly integrating computer-generated elements into live-action footage, enabling the creation of stunning visual effects for films, television shows, commercials, and other projects. Your expertise in camera tracking and 3D match moving will be instrumental in achieving realistic and immersive visual effects.

Responsibilities:

1. Camera Tracking: Utilize SynthEyes software to accurately track the movement of the live-action camera in each shot. This includes tracking camera position, rotation, and lens parameters to replicate real-world movement in the 3D environment.
2. Object Tracking: Track and matchmove 3D objects or characters to live-action footage, ensuring they convincingly interact with the environment and other elements.
3. Solving Complex Shots: Handle challenging tracking shots, such as shots with rapid camera movement, motion blur, or low contrast, by employing advanced tracking techniques and problem-solving skills.
4. Layout and Integration: Integrate tracked cameras and 3D elements into the existing visual effects pipeline, collaborating with other VFX artists and departments to ensure seamless integration.
5. Data Cleanup: Clean up and prep live-action footage for tracking, ensuring data is consistent and ready for the tracking process.
6. Calibration: Calibrate and match real-world camera settings to the virtual camera in the 3D environment, ensuring a seamless blend between the two.
7. Quality Control: Perform thorough quality checks on tracked shots to ensure accuracy and alignment with project specifications.
8. Collaboration: Collaborate with other VFX artists, supervisors, and production team members to understand project requirements, provide input, and deliver high-quality results within project timelines.
9. Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve tracking issues and errors that may arise during the production process.
10. Innovation and Improvement: Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, tools, and techniques related to camera tracking and VFX, and contribute innovative ideas to enhance the efficiency and quality of the tracking process.

Requirements:

1. Proven Experience: Extensive professional experience as a VFX Tracking Artist with a strong portfolio demonstrating successful camera tracking and matchmoving work.
2. Software Proficiency: Proficient in SynthEyes and Maya, with a deep understanding of their tracking and matchmoving capabilities.
3. Technical Skills: Solid understanding of 3D principles, camera technology, and motion tracking techniques.
4. Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to tackle complex tracking shots effectively.
5. Team Player: Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within a team-oriented production environment.
6. Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail and ability to deliver high-quality, accurate results.
7. Time Management: Capable of managing time efficiently to meet project deadlines and deliver on schedule.
