We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer Cum System Admin to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both networking and systems administration, with the ability to manage and optimize network infrastructure while also ensuring the smooth operation of system software and hardware. This role requires a proactive problem-solver who can handle a variety of tasks related to network design, implementation, troubleshooting, and system maintenance.

Responsibilities:

1. Network Infrastructure Management:

• Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices.
• Monitor network performance and security, identifying and resolving issues to ensure optimal network uptime and reliability.
• Configure and maintain VPNs, VLANs, and other network technologies to support business requirements.
• Conduct regular network audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions accordingly.

1. System Administration:

• Install, configure, and maintain server operating systems and software applications.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls across various systems and platforms.
• Perform routine system backups and implement disaster recovery plans to ensure data integrity and availability.
• Monitor system performance and resource utilization, optimizing configurations as needed to improve efficiency.
• Troubleshoot system issues and coordinate with vendors for timely resolution of hardware or software problems.

1. Security Management:

• Implement and maintain security measures to protect network and system resources from unauthorized access, viruses, and other threats.
• Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments, addressing any identified weaknesses or vulnerabilities.
• Stay updated on emerging security threats and industry best practices, implementing necessary measures to mitigate risks.

1. Documentation and Reporting:

• Create and maintain detailed documentation of network and system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
• Generate regular reports on network and system performance, security incidents, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Proven experience in network engineering and system administration roles.
• Strong understanding of networking protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, etc.
• Proficiency with network hardware and software, such as Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, etc.
• Experience with server operating systems (e.g., Windows Server, Linux) and virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
• Familiarity with security concepts and tools, such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, antivirus software, etc.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
