We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Logistics Team Lead to oversee and manage our logistics operations effectively. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating the transportation, storage, and distribution of goods, ensuring that our supply chain runs smoothly and efficiently. As a Logistics Team Lead, you will be expected to lead a team of logistics coordinators, monitor performance, and implement strategies to optimize processes and reduce costs. Strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of logistics principles are essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of logistics coordinators to ensure productivity and efficiency.
- Provide guidance and support to team members, fostering a positive work environment.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback for professional development.
- Logistics Operations:
- Oversee the planning and execution of logistics activities, including transportation, warehousing, and inventory management.
- Coordinate with suppliers, carriers, and vendors to ensure timely delivery of goods and materials.
- Monitor and track shipments, resolving any issues or delays that may arise during transit.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize logistics processes, reduce costs, and improve overall efficiency.
- Inventory Management:
- Maintain accurate records of inventory levels and stock movements.
- Implement inventory control measures to minimize stockouts and excess inventory.
- Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure adequate stock levels and timely replenishment.
- Quality Assurance:
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards in all logistics operations.
- Conduct regular inspections of facilities, equipment, and vehicles to ensure proper maintenance and adherence to safety protocols.
- Implement corrective actions to address any non-compliance issues and prevent recurrences.
- Reporting and Analysis:
- Generate reports and performance metrics to track key logistics KPIs.
- Analyze data and trends to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions accordingly.
- Provide regular updates and insights to senior management regarding logistics operations and performance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience (X years) in logistics operations, with at least X years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of logistics principles, processes, and best practices.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage a team.
- Proficiency in logistics software and tools (e.g., TMS, WMS, ERP systems).
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., APICS, Six Sigma) are a plus.
