We are seeking a mid-level Purchase Engineer to join our team in Tiruchirappalli. This is a full-time position that requires a candidate with a strong background in procurement and a solid 4 to 6 years of work experience in the field. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring efficient purchasing processes to meet the company's strategic objectives.

Qualifications and Skills

• Proven experience in supply chain management, demonstrating the ability to manage and improve supply chain operations effectively.
• Strong vendor management skills with a track record of building and maintaining productive vendor relationships.
• Expertise in cost analysis to evaluate the total cost of ownership and optimize buying decisions.
• Proficient in inventory management practices ensuring stock levels are optimized to balance availability with cost.
• Solid understanding of contract management including negotiation, execution, and compliance monitoring.
• Quality Assurance experience (Mandatory skill) - Ensuring purchased products meet company standards consistently.
• Experience in floating RFQ’s (Mandatory skill) - Developing and issuing requests for quotations to acquire competitive bids.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact and collaborate with various departments and stakeholders.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Develop and implement purchasing strategies to procure quality goods and services at optimal cost.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, finance, and logistics, to ensure seamless purchasing processes.
• Monitor and analyze trends in procurement to identify potential areas for cost savings and process improvements.
• Coordinate with vendors to ensure timely delivery and resolve quality or supply issues efficiently.
• Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other important procurement data for internal audits and management analysis.
• Evaluate suppliers' performance based on quality, reliability, delivery time, and price, and report findings to management.
• Drive continuous improvements in the purchasing process through innovative approaches and supplier engagement.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and best practices in procurement activities.
