Envisioned by Nita M. Ambani and spread over 18.5 acres in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex, the Jio World Centre is an iconic business, commerce, and cultural destination. A multifaceted development of its kind in India, it includes the musical Fountain of Joy, an upscale retail experience, a multivenue cultural centre, selection of cafés and fine dining restaurants, serviced apartments and offices, and one of India’s largest convention facilities – the Jio World Convention Centre. The Centre opened to the public with the Jio World Convention Centre and the Fountain of Joy at Dhirubhai Ambani Square in early 2022. ​ The Jio World Centre is strategically located in Mumbai’s vibrant business and cultural hub of Bandra Kurla Complex. This centre has been developed with an international design vocabulary, while honouring the culture and spirit of India.

Purpose of The Role

To enhance the reliability and safety of all machinery and equipment within the organization by developing and implementing robust reliability engineering programs, conducting thorough analysis and risk assessments, ensuring compliance with relevant safety regulations (Factories Act, Gas Cylinder Rules, Boilers Act, Building and Structure Standards etc.), leading machine safety initiatives, providing expert guidance and training, and leveraging SAP for effective data analysis and compliance tracking.

Key Objectives

• Improve Machine Reliability: Increase the uptime, efficiency, and overall reliability of machinery and equipment.
• Minimize Machine-Related Risks: Proactively identify and mitigate potential machine-related safety hazards through periodic internal audits.
• Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Maintain full compliance with all applicable national and local machine safety regulations and standards.
• Enhance Employee Safety Culture: Foster a strong safety awareness and competency among employees regarding machine operation and maintenance.
• Optimize Maintenance Strategies: Develop and implement effective predictive and preventative maintenance strategies based on reliability analysis.
• Leverage Data for Improvement: Utilize SAP and other data sources to analyse equipment performance, identify failure patterns, and drive continuous improvement in reliability and safety.
• Sustainability: To work towards achieving RIL Sustainability goals of achieving Net zero certification for the building.

Scope of Delivery

• Reliability Engineering Programs: Development, implementation, and management of reliability-centered maintenance (RCM), root cause analysis (RCA), and other reliability improvement programs.
• Machine Safety Initiatives: Leading and contributing to machine safety programs, ensuring compliance with regulations.
• Risk Assessments and Hazard Analysis: Conducting in-depth risk assessments and hazard analysis with a strong focus on reliability implications.
• Reliability Data Analysis: Collection, analysis, and interpretation of equipment performance data to identify trends and predict potential failures.
• HLP and R&M Analysis: Daily HLP analysis and strive towards continuous energy reduction by implementing innovative process and product improvement ideas.
• Maintenance Strategy Optimization: Developing and recommending improvements to maintenance procedures and schedules based on reliability analysis.
• Training and Mentoring: Providing technical guidance and training on reliability engineering principles and machine safety practices.
• Regulatory Compliance Support: Ensuring Engineering operations are in compliance with all relevant safety regulations.

Job Accountabilities

Reliability Engineering and Analysis:

• Develop and implement reliability engineering methodologies and best practices.
• Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for equipment failures and recommend corrective and preventative actions.
• Analyse equipment performance data to identify trends, predict failures, and optimize maintenance intervals.
• Develop and implement predictive and preventative maintenance strategies.

Machine Safety and Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with all applicable machine safety standards and regulations (Factories Act, Gas Cylinder Rules, Boilers Act, Building and Structure Standards, etc.).
• Lead or participate in safety inspections and audits with a focus on reliability impact.
• Conduct risk assessments and hazard analysis for machinery and processes, integrating reliability considerations.

Training and Knowledge Sharing:

• Provide technical training and guidance to maintenance and operations personnel on reliability principles and safe operating procedures.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians on reliability best practices.

SAP and Data Management:

• Utilize SAP to ensure implementation of engineering modules in line with RIL standards.
• Generate reports on equipment reliability metrics and safety compliance.
• Ensure accurate data entry and maintenance of equipment records in SAP.

Continuous Improvement

• Identify opportunities for improving equipment reliability, safety, and maintenance efficiency.
• Implement and track the effectiveness of reliability improvement initiatives.
• Stay updated on the latest reliability engineering techniques and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Relevant safety certifications (such as NEBOSH, IOSH, etc.), preferred with sustainability focus

Skills

• In-depth knowledge of machine safety standards, Factories Act, Gas Cylinder Rules, Boilers Act, and Building and Structure Standards.
• Familiarity with SAP for managing operations, tracking maintenance schedules, and reporting compliance.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, safety protocols, and emergency procedures.
• Good organizational, communication, interpersonal and team skills.
• Ability to deal with the Government Offices and other related offices, any other stakeholders.
• Excellent analytical mind with good attention to detail.

Experience

• Minimum of 8+ years of experience in a mechanical engineering role with a strong focus on machine safety, compliance, risk management and SAP operations.
• Extensive knowledge of engineering operations in Hospitality, Malls, Airports, etc. will be preferred
