Role Description:

1.         Drafting, vetting, negotiating and executing various strategic commercial agreements relating to Procurement and Contract (P & C) for telecom, enterprise information technology, e-commerce, with both domestic and international third parties.

2.         Prepare standard forms of contract, process for implementation, guidelines for execution of contracts (including prepare template of IPR licensing clauses in agreements).

3.         Facilitate interactions with cross functional teams like direct/ indirect tax, IPR, industrial relations, & regulatory teams for various contracts, transactions etc.

4.         Advisory services:

a.         Assisting company in providing day to day legal advice to concerned teams, and ensuring compliance with industry specific laws and other general law.

b.         Advice business on strategies due to change in laws, to various stake holders on various legal and compliance issues on need basis.

c.         Providing solution oriented, guidance on specific issues as may be sought by different functions.

d.         Advice business on IPR strategies to identify and manage the most effective structure for protection/use of IPR owned by Reliance, royalty arrangements, licensing and sub-licensing of IP in order to ensure efficiency, risk mitigation and revenue optimization by Reliance.

5.         Providing legal support to brand protection initiatives.

6.         Provide necessary support as required by the litigation team.

7.         Monitor business processes and practices at NHQ and ensure organization is operating as per defined policies and guidelines under the Indian Legal system and various statutory and regulatory guidelines.

8.         Minimize the legal risk involved in contracts, and ensure adherence to Reliance’s policies & practices.

9.         Response to all complaints and issues/disputes raised within a reasonable time.

10.      MIS reporting for Business related activities.

11.      Hire, train and manage talent at NHQ.

 

Minimum qualifications: LL.B. (required), LL.M. (preferable)

 

Experience in years: 3-14 years

 

Position Summary: Looking for candidate from Legal Department of medium to large company (preferably a Telecom/IT/e-Commerce company but not a must) and or a reputed Law Firm.

 

Supervisory responsibilities including Professional/Personal Attributes:

a.         Strong contract drafting, vetting, reviewing and negotiating skills individually with attention to detail.

b.         Strong capabilities of training the legal team for creating backup.

c.         Strong capabilities to lead the team in case of need.

d.         Sound legal knowledge driven by logical and reasoned approach.

e.         Pragmatic, solutions-based approach to achieving business objectives in a legal manner.

f.           Ability to interpret and apply laws to practical business scenarios.

g.         Good communication skills (written as well as spoken) and analytical abilities

h.         High degree of passion & motivation

i.           Willing to handle a wide variety of challenging assignments

j.           Ability to work and collaborate across functions and within the legal team

k.         Open to learning and adapting to new environment.
