Position Summary:

The Cinema Duty Manager is responsible for managing the daily operations of the cinema during assigned shifts. This role includes ensuring high standards of customer service, overseeing staff, handling customer issues, and ensuring that all technical, operational, and safety procedures are followed.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Customer Service
  • Provide exceptional service to customers by addressing complaints, assisting with issues, and ensuring a pleasant experience.
  • Ensure staff maintain a welcoming environment, greet guests, and assist them as needed.
  1. Staff Supervision and Training
  • Oversee team members, including box office, concessions, ushers, and cleaning staff.
  • Conduct training sessions for new staff members on service standards, emergency protocols, and job responsibilities.
  • Motivate, coach, and evaluate the team to enhance performance and morale.
  1. Operations Management
  • Monitor cinema operations, including ticket sales, concessions, and lobby cleanliness, to ensure all areas are operating smoothly.
  • Maintain theater schedules and ensure movie screenings start on time.
  • Handle opening and closing duties, including cash handling and reconciling daily sales.
  1. Health and Safety Compliance
  • Ensure all health, safety, and emergency procedures are adhered to by staff and patrons.
  • Conduct regular checks of the cinema premises, equipment, and facilities to ensure a safe environment.
  • Manage evacuation and emergency procedures if necessary.
  1. Inventory and Stock Management
  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels for concessions and cleaning supplies.
  • Place orders or inform relevant personnel when stock is low to avoid shortages.
  1. Technical Support and Troubleshooting
  • Assist with basic troubleshooting for projection or sound issues, or escalate to technical support if needed.
  • Ensure all equipment is in working condition, and report any technical issues to the maintenance team.
  1. Sales and Promotions
  • Promote special offers, loyalty programs, or cinema events.
  • Assist with marketing and advertising efforts within the cinema to increase customer engagement.
  1. Reporting and Administrative Duties
  • Prepare shift reports, document incidents, and update managers on any issues that require attention.
  • Monitor sales figures and provide feedback on customer preferences and attendance patterns.
