Job Overview
We are seeking a proficient Indian and Tandoor Chef to join our team. This is a Full-Time role based in New Delhi at the junior level. The ideal candidate will have 1 to 3 years of work experience with expertise in Indian cuisine and Tandoor cooking.
Qualifications and Skills
- Expertise in Indian cuisine, with the ability to prepare a wide range of traditional dishes.
- Proven experience and skill in Tandoor cooking, including handling Tandoor ovens and preparing Tandoori dishes.
- Knowledge of spices and seasonings used in Indian cooking to create authentic flavors.
- Familiarity with food safety and hygiene practices to ensure a safe and clean kitchen environment.
- Ability to plan menus and develop new recipes that bring innovation and variety to the offerings.
- Attention to detail in food presentation to ensure dishes are visually appealing.
- Capability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining quality standards.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and management.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of Indian dishes, with a focus on Tandoori items, ensuring high quality and consistency.
- Manage the Tandoor oven and oversee the preparation of Tandoori dishes, including breads, meats, and vegetables.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards at all times.
- Participate in menu planning and recipe development to introduce new and exciting dishes.
- Ensure precise use of spices and seasonings to achieve the desired flavor profile in each dish.
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and kitchen supplies, and assist in ordering as needed.
- Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient kitchen operations.
- Receive feedback from customers and make necessary adjustments to improve food quality and presentation.
