Job Description

The Fire Safety Foreman is responsible for ensuring compliance with fire safety regulations and standards within a manufacturing facility. This role involves overseeing fire safety practices, conducting inspections, and coordinating training programs to maintain a safe working environment and prevent fire-related incidents.


Key Responsibilities:


Fire Safety Compliance:

Ensure the manufacturing facility complies with local, state, and federal fire safety regulations and standards.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of fire safety laws and best practices relevant to the manufacturing industry.


Inspection and Maintenance:

Conduct regular inspections of fire protection systems, including alarms, sprinklers, and extinguishers, to ensure they are operational.

Identify and address potential fire hazards within the facility.

Coordinate with maintenance teams to rectify any issues found during inspections.


Emergency Preparedness:

Develop and implement fire safety procedures and emergency response plans.

Conduct fire drills and emergency response training for employees to ensure preparedness in the event of a fire.

Maintain and update emergency contact lists and evacuation plans.


Training and Education:

Train employees on fire safety procedures, the use of fire extinguishers, and emergency evacuation protocols.

Provide ongoing education to staff about fire hazards and prevention strategies.


Record Keeping:

Maintain accurate records of fire safety inspections, maintenance activities, and training sessions.

Prepare reports on fire safety compliance and incidents for management review.


Incident Management:

Respond to fire alarms and emergencies, coordinating with emergency services as needed.

Investigate fire incidents and near-misses to determine causes and implement corrective actions.


Safety Culture:

Promote a culture of safety within the manufacturing facility by advocating for best practices and encouraging employee participation in fire safety initiatives.
