Job Title: Field Installation Specialist – AgriTech Systems

Location: Trichy, India (with occasional travel as needed)

Linguistic proficiency: Hindi is Mandatory along with English

Job Summary:

As a Field Installation Specialist, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of the crop data analytics system in India. This role requires a combination of hardware installation, software configuration, and customer support skills to ensure the seamless setup and maintenance of the system. You will provide support over the phone and, when necessary, conduct on-site installations.

Key Responsibilities:

1.        Hardware Installation and Configuration

·      Install and configure systems on agricultural machinery, including secure hardware setup, cable management, and device connections for GPS, USB, and network modules.

·      Configure tablets, GPS modules, and peripheral devices (such as USB and 4G dongles) for optimal functionality and reliable connectivity.

·      Ensure network stability by setting up and troubleshooting 4G connections as needed.

2.        Software and System Support

·      Use Linux commands for system diagnostics, device configuration, and file management.

·      Perform software updates and manage system dependencies on Linux-based devices.

·      Write and use basic shell scripts to automate tasks and resolve system issues.

3.        Technical Documentation and Communication

·      Create comprehensive installation and troubleshooting guides, including diagrams, flowcharts, and annotated visuals for both technical and non-technical audiences.

·      Document each installation process and maintain up-to-date records for future reference.

·      Communicate effectively with team members and clients through emails, reports, and other documentation.

4.        Customer Support and Communication

·      Actively listen to client feedback and challenges, adjusting installation and support techniques to meet individual client needs.

·      Provide excellent written and verbal communication, explaining technical processes to customers and stakeholders in clear, understandable terms.

5.        Flexibility and Adaptability

·      Be willing to travel as required for on-site installations and support.

·      Flexibly adjust work hours, when needed, to meet client schedules and critical project deadlines.

·      Adapt communication styles as needed for different audiences, ensuring clarity for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications:

·      Experience in hardware installation and troubleshooting, preferably in IoT or AgriTech domains.

·      Proficiency in Linux commands and shell scripting basics.

·      Solid understanding of 4G networking and connectivity troubleshooting.

·      Technical writing skills with experience creating user-friendly documentation.

·      Ability to work independently and flexibly adapt to varied customer needs.

Preferred:

·      Prior experience in agriculture technology or similar field installation roles.

·      Familiarity with tablet and peripheral device configurations for remote system operations.

Diploma Holders:

 Candidates with a diploma in Electronics & Electrical or Agricultural Engineering can be an good choice. Experience in hardware installation, basic networking, and device configuration. Diploma holders with practical field experience may often be cost-effective hires compared to degree holders while still meeting technical requirements.

BE/B.Tech Graduates: Entry-level to mid-level engineers with a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in hardware installation, IoT setups, or agricultural technology support would be suitable.
