Job Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Purchasing Manager to join our dynamic team in Chennai. This is a full-time senior position requiring a minimum of 7 years and a maximum of 10 years of work experience. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional negotiation, vendor management, and budgeting skills, and will play a crucial role in managing our supply chain and procurement processes.


Qualifications and Skills

  • Strong negotiation skills (Mandatory skill) – Proven ability to negotiate contracts and terms with vendors and suppliers effectively.
  • Expertise in vendor management (Mandatory skill) – Capability to manage vendor relationships, ensuring quality and timely supply of goods and services.
  • Proficiency in budgeting (Mandatory skill) – Experience in creating and managing budgets, ensuring cost efficiency and fiscal prudence.
  • Extensive knowledge in supply chain management – Understanding of end-to-end supply chain processes and practices.
  • Strong cost analysis skills – Ability to perform cost-benefit analyses to determine effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Experience in Hotel industry inventory management – Competent in managing inventory levels to ensure optimal stocking without over-accumulation.
  • Thorough contract management skills – Expertise in drafting, evaluating, and managing contracts with various vendors and suppliers.
  • Market research capabilities – Ability to analyze market trends to make informed procurement decisions.


Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, lead, and execute purchasing strategies aligned with the organization's objectives.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to understand their supply needs and ensure timely fulfillment.
  • Manage supplier and vendor relationships to ensure excellent service and high-quality supplies.
  • Negotiate terms and prices with vendors to secure the best deals and maximize cost savings.
  • Review and analyze all vendors/suppliers, supply, and price options.
  • Oversee the purchase of materials, equipment, and supplies.
  • Maintain accurate records of pricing, purchases, and other relevant data.
  • Prepare and process purchase orders accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand to ensure timely ordering of supplies.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews with vendors to ensure compliance with contractual agreements.
