Job Overview

Join our team as a Junior Horticulturist in Chennai with the Hare Krishna Movement. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for maintaining the lush landscapes of our spiritual campus. Qualifications and Skills

• Proficiency in identifying various plant species and understanding their specific growth requirements to ensure the best care.
• In-depth knowledge of soil management practices to optimize plant health and enhance garden ecosystems.
• Ability to identify, control, and manage pests effectively, using both organic and chemical solutions responsibly.
• Experience in pruning techniques to maintain plant health, enhance appearance, and ensure optimal growth and productivity.
• Familiarity with irrigation systems including installation and maintenance to support efficient water usage.
• Understanding of greenhouse management practices to control environmental conditions for plant propagation.
• Expertise in various harvesting methods to ensure the efficient collection of crops while maintaining quality.
• Skills in landscaping design to create and implement visually appealing garden layouts that fit the organization's aesthetic values.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Maintain and manage the campus gardens, ensuring they meet the aesthetic and environmental standards set by the organization.
• Develop and implement plans for seasonal planting and landscape design to enhance the spiritual environment.
• Monitor plant health, identifying and addressing any issues related to pests, diseases, or nutrient deficiencies.
• Ensure the efficient functioning of irrigation systems and customize watering schedules based on plant needs.
• Collaborate with other team members to execute large-scale landscaping projects and special event setups.
• Keep up to date with horticultural trends and techniques to implement best practices in campus management.
• Participate in community engagement programs related to horticulture and sustainable practices sharing knowledge with visitors.
• Assist in maintaining inventories of necessary gardening supplies and equipment, ensuring timely reorder and organization.
