Job Summary:

Asian News 24x7 is seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Editor to support

the editorial team in producing timely, accurate, and impactful news content. The

ideal candidate will have a strong editorial sense, a keen eye for detail, and a solid

understanding of the news landscape. The Assistant Editor will assist in content

planning, oversee quality control, coordinate with reporters and producers, and

contribute to story development and editing.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Content Planning and Development

o Collaborate with the editorial team to identify and develop stories

aligned with the channel’s vision and standards.

o Brainstorm and pitch ideas for daily news stories, features, and special

segments.

2. Editorial Oversight

o Review and edit news scripts, articles, and video content for accuracy,

clarity, and adherence to editorial standards.

o Ensure content is fact-checked and aligns with the channel's values and

editorial policy.

3. Team Coordination

o Work closely with reporters, producers, and other editorial staff to

ensure a smooth workflow.

o Guide and mentor junior editorial team members as required.

4. Quality Control

o Maintain high standards in grammar, tone, and style across all content.

o Oversee visual and textual content to ensure it meets the channel’s

quality and ethical guidelines.

5. Newsroom Management

o Assist in managing daily editorial meetings, prioritizing stories, and

planning coverage.

o Coordinate with field reporters and assignment desks for breaking news

and live coverage requirements.

6. Deadline Management

o Ensure all content is completed and broadcast-ready within deadlines.

o Troubleshoot last-minute issues to keep broadcasts on schedule.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, or a related

field.

• 3-5 years of experience in a similar role in a news channel or media outlet.

• Strong news judgment and understanding of current events, national and

international.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Hindi.

• Proficiency in editorial software and newsroom content management systems.

• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

• Team-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
