As a Software Developer, you will be using your extensive knowledge of Vtiger CRM (on-premises version), JavaScript, HTML, and CSS to improve our web client. While adding new capabilities, you will design optimal performance across browsers while using Web service and PHP APIs. You will be involved with Product Management, User Experience, Backend Development, and Quality Assurance to build user interfaces that customers love to use. You will be reviewing code, troubleshoot issues, and mentoring other engineers.

You will also be responsible for implementing new features and API methods and improving the system's reliability and performance. You will write understandable, testable code and collaborate with key stakeholders. You should be a self-managed developer and be able to handle tasks independently.

Some of the duties/responsibilities include:  

Implement new features

Write unit tests

Talk about the usage of API methods with frontend developers

Troubleshoot production issues with the Operations team

Work with the Support team and Quality Analyst team to triage and solve bugs

Mentor other developers

Requirements For This Role:   

1-3 years' experience in building web applications and writing client-side JavaScript

Experience with Vtiger open-source CRM

Expertise in PHP or Python or Ruby or C or Java (Vtiger CRM is built on PHP, MySQL, and Linux)

Experience with using APIs

Expertise in MySQL or any relational database

Expertise in building complex layouts with CSS

Experience in using Bootstrap, JQuery, or similar client-side libraries

Experience with modern browser technologies

Strong UX and Design sensibilities
