Job Summary:

The Technical Assistant to the General Manager plays a pivotal role in providing comprehensive support to the General Manager in a dynamic and fast-paced engineering environment. This position requires a strong engineering background, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage a variety of tasks simultaneously. The Technical Assistant will collaborate closely with the General Manager and other key stakeholders to ensure the smooth operation of the executive office.

Responsibilities:

1. Executive Support:

Provide high-level administrative support to the General Manager, including managing schedules, arranging appointments, and handling confidential information.

Prepare and edit correspondence, reports, and presentations for the General Manager.

2. Project Coordination:

Assist in coordinating and monitoring key engineering projects, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather project updates and compile progress reports for the General Manager.

3. Communication and Liaison:

Act as a liaison between the General Manager and internal/external stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and information flow.

Attend meetings on behalf of the General Manager, take minutes, and follow up on action items.

4. Data Analysis and Reporting:

Analyse technical data and reports to provide insights and recommendations to the General Manager.

Prepare regular status reports and presentations on key engineering initiatives.

5. Research and Information Gathering:

Conduct research on industry trends, competitors and emerging technologies to keep the General Manager informed and up-to-date.

Collect and analyse data to support decision-making processes.

6. Travel Coordination:

Arrange travel itineraries, accommodations and logistics for the General Manager as required.


7. Event Planning:

Assist in planning and organizing internal and external events, conferences, and meetings.
