Job Title –  BigCommerce Developer

As a BigCommerce Senior Developer, you will have the exciting opportunity to drive insights and innovation for our client's public facing web properties. You will play an integral role in an exciting and fast-paced team where the sky is indeed the limit.

Responsibilities

• Setup and configure BigCommerce sites, with varying degrees of complexity
• Custom BigCommerce app development.
• Custom BigCommerce theme development
• Follow agile methodologies and practices around analysis, design, and development.
• Understand server requirements for custom app development
• Work in a team environment creating and supporting enterprise-grade applications

Qualifications and Basic Requirements

• 3+ years' professional experience in BigCommerce development.
• 1+ years professional experience in BigCommerce frontend customizations
• Bachelor's degree or higher in related field. Extensive work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to document processes and solutions
• Project management software such as Wrike, Jira.
• Ability to meet strict timelines
• Solutions-oriented thinking; always looking for the smart solution to a problem rather than jumping at the first answer
• A preoccupation with staying on top of industry trends and technologies
• Must be extremely passionate about learning new technologies & implementing them
• Must take ownership and accountability for projects & deliver on time lines
• Must be a smart out of the box thinker with leadership qualities

Skills and Technical Requirements

• Expert understanding of BigCommerce’s configuration and frontend framework
• Expert understanding of BigCommerce’s app development best practices, theming customization, and use of 3rd party integrations
• Expert understanding of extending BigCommerce’s APIs and using both Frontend and Backend API’s
• Competency in using the BigCommerce SDK to build custom checkout experiences
• Thorough experience in customizing BigCommerce’s front-end components using layout XML, blocks, and templates and working with the most common Big Commerce themes
• Thorough knowledge of vanilla BigCommerce feature set, functionality and configuration.
• Competent knowledge of e-commerce data organization and relationships,
• Competent in authoring JavaScript and using libraries such as jQuery.
• Familiarity with optimization & debugging tools &strategies
• A desire to be personally responsible for production-level code
• Ingenuity to leverage all available tools at your disposal.
