Job Description: Head of Procurement - Fortran Steel Pvt Ltd (Taloja MIDC, India)

Position Overview:

Fortran Steel Pvt Ltd, a leading steel manufacturing company located in Taloja MIDC, India, is seeking an experienced and skilled Head of Procurement to oversee the procurement function within the organization. The Head of Procurement will be responsible for managing the entire procurement process, sourcing raw materials and services, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficiency in the procurement operations. The successful candidate will play a critical role in maintaining a steady supply chain and contributing to the company's overall success.

Responsibilities:

Procurement Strategy and Planning:

Develop and implement a comprehensive procurement strategy aligned with the company's goals and budgetary requirements.

Collaborate with key stakeholders, including production, finance, and logistics teams, to understand procurement needs and optimize supply chain efficiency.

Vendor Management:

Identify and evaluate potential suppliers and vendors based on quality, cost, delivery, and other relevant factors.

Negotiate favorable terms, contracts, and agreements with suppliers to secure the best pricing and conditions for the company.

Sourcing and Purchasing:

Lead the sourcing process for raw materials, equipment, and services required for the manufacturing process.

Ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of materials and services, while maintaining high-quality standards.

Inventory Management:

Optimize inventory levels to balance supply and demand, avoiding stockouts and excess inventory costs.

Implement efficient inventory control measures and track inventory levels regularly.

Cost Optimization:

Work closely with the finance department to analyze procurement costs and identify areas for cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.

Supplier Relationship Management:

Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, fostering a collaborative and mutually beneficial partnership.

Conduct regular performance reviews with suppliers to monitor their performance and address any issues.

Compliance and Risk Management:

Ensure compliance with all relevant procurement policies, regulations, and ethical standards.

Identify and mitigate procurement-related risks, such as supply disruptions or changes in market conditions.

Team Leadership and Development:

Lead, mentor, and motivate the procurement team, encouraging professional growth and teamwork.

Provide guidance and support in resolving complex procurement challenges.

Requirements:

·        Proven experience in procurement and supply chain management, preferably within the steel manufacturing industry.

·        Minimum of 10-15 years of relevant experience in procurement and sourcing functions.

·        Familiarity with Taloja MIDC's local supply market and potential suppliers is desirable.

·        Strong negotiation and communication skills to interact with suppliers and internal stakeholders effectively.

·        Demonstrated ability to develop and implement procurement strategies that contribute to cost reduction and operational efficiency.

·        Proficiency in using procurement software and tools for data analysis and reporting.

·        Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant professional certifications would be an added advantage.

·        Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address procurement challenges.

·        Salary: 7.5 to 9 lacs per annum
