Job Description (Android Developer)

We are looking for an experienced and skilled Android Developer to join our Development team.

As an Android Developer, you will be responsible for developing mobile applications for multiple versions of android devices. You will work with the Technical team,  Software Development Engineers, and Graphics Designers to build a quality app.

You will also be designing and building new generation Android applications that are compatible with multiple Android platforms. You should have extensive knowledge of the Android operating system and its functionalities. 

Responsibilities

• Conceptualising and formulating apps that are suitable for use on all types of Android devices.
• Implementing measures to safeguard users' data.
• Proofreading your code and correcting mistakes before each app is released.
• Collaborating with UI and UX Designers, as well as Software Testers, to ensure that each app is presentable and in perfect working order.
• Monitoring app reviews to detect areas for improvement.
• Creating app updates, including bug fixes and additional features, for release.
• Ensure the best possible performance, quality and responsiveness of Applications.
• Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to address and mitigate these problems.
• Staying up to date with new mobile technology trends, applications, and protocols.

Skills:

• 0 to 3  years of development experience in Android App Development or Mobile App Developer.
• Have published at least one original Android app.
• Have prior experience as an Android Developer using Kotlin, Java, Android SDK, Android NDK.
• Experience working with remote data via REST and JSON.
• Experience with third-party libraries and APIs.
• Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements.
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
• A knack for benchmarking and optimization
• Understanding of Google’s Android design principles and interface guidelines
• Working knowledge of the general mobile landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies
• Solid understanding of the full mobile development life cycle
• Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
• Team player and Good time-management skills
• Great interpersonal and communication skills
• BSc/MSc/MCA degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related subject or equivalent degree.

Technologies:

• Experience with Android development tools such as Android Studio, APIs, Material Design, Android SDK.
• Excellent programming skills and proficient in Java,JavaScript, C++, and XML and Web Services.
• Must be familiar with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services.
• Knowledge of code versioning tools (such as Git, Mercurial or SVN).
• Knowledge of the open-source Android ecosystem and the available libraries.
• Basic knowledge of mobile databases like SQLite and Room. 
• Knowledge of Google third-party libraries like Firebase, Ad Networks/ Mediations , Jetpack, and Google API.
