Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Tax Consultant with deep expertise in UAE VAT and Corporate Tax to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving high-level tax strategies, managing complex tax filing processes, and leading a team to ensure compliance and efficiency. With a focus on technical tax knowledge, process improvement, and automation, this role is crucial to supporting the continued growth and effectiveness of our tax department.

Key Responsibilities:

• Tax Compliance and Advisory:
• Serve as the subject matter expert on UAE VAT and Corporate Tax, ensuring compliance with the latest tax regulations and updates.
• Provide tax advisory services, focusing on complex, high-impact work such as tax planning and impact assessments.
• Oversee and execute corporate tax filing processes using the Emaratax portal, including penalty assessment and management.
• Manage a significant volume of tax registration processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
• Team Leadership:
• Lead, manage, and mentor a team of 5-10 tax professionals, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
• Identify and address skills gaps within the team, providing guidance and training as needed.
• Maintain oversight of workload distribution to meet all internal and external deadlines effectively.
• Process Improvement:
• Identify and close process gaps within tax operations to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Contribute to automation initiatives, streamlining data handling, reporting, and filing workflows.
• Process Knowledge:
• Expert knowledge of the steps involved in tax registration, tax filing, and amendments, including all required documentation for each process.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field.
• Professional Certification: Holder of or actively pursuing a recognized tax or finance qualification (e.g., CMA, CA Inter, or equivalent).
• Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years in tax consulting, with a strong focus on UAE VAT and Corporate Tax.
• Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of the Emaratax portal, including penalty management and potential use cases.

• Proven experience managing a high volume of tax registrations and related filings.
• Experience working in a startup environment, with the ability to adapt to dynamic, high-growth settings.
