Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Mid-Level WordPress Engineer with at least 6 years of hands-on experience in WordPress development. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of WordPress theme and plugin development, advanced proficiency with Advanced Custom Fields (ACF), and the ability to make informed decisions regarding custom development. The role also requires expertise in JavaScript for REST API development. A degree in Computer Science is a must, ensuring a solid foundation in software engineering principles.

Key Responsibilities:

·         Design, develop, and maintain custom WordPress themes and plugins, ensuring adherence to best practices.

·         Leverage Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) to create efficient and flexible content structures across projects.

·         Evaluate project requirements to decide when to use built-in WordPress features, custom post types, or custom database tables.

·         Develop and integrate custom REST APIs, ensuring seamless communication between WordPress and external systems.

·         Collaborate with designers and fellow developers to turn designs into high-performance, reusable code.

·         Identify and resolve performance issues, security vulnerabilities, and other technical challenges.

·         Stay updated on WordPress best practices, version updates, and new technologies in the ecosystem.

Required Skills and Experience:

·         Bachelors degree in computer science.

·         6+ years of hands-on experience in WordPress development, including custom theme and plugin creation.

·         Strong expertise in Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) for creating custom, dynamic content structures.

·         Proficiency in PHP and MySQL, with a strong understanding of WordPress architecture.

·         Ability to evaluate when to use built-in WordPress features, custom post types, or custom database tables.

·         Excellent knowledge of JavaScript, including experience with REST API development.

·         Familiarity with front-end technologies like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Vue.js is a plus).

·         Experience with version control tools, particularly Git.

·         Knowledge of performance optimization, caching strategies, and security best practices in WordPress.

Nice-to-Have:

·         Experience working with the WordPress Block Editor (Gutenberg) and building custom blocks.

·         Familiarity with ElasticPress or other popular WordPress plugins.

·         Experience with Headless WordPress setups and integrations with external platforms.

·         Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and WordPress deployment strategies.
