Roles and Responsibilities

Vendor Development

• Research and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production, and distribution capabilities, transportation cost, and supplier's reputation and performance history
• Coordinate with the technical team to evaluate the technical competency of the selected suppliers
• Negotiate with suppliers relative to quality and service issues. Provide feedback to senior level representatives of suppliers on quality and delivery performance to assure continuous improvement in those areas
• Seek to explore newer suppliers with enhanced technological competence both nationally and internationally
• Approve Rate contracts
• Maintain vendor relationships and address vendor issues
• Finalize contractors selection across all branches

Purchases related roles

• Coordinate with planning department to make advance forecast for requirement of material
• Approve Material Requirement Plan
• Monitor and report on cost trends for key commodities impacting product categories
• Ensure all supplier contracts are complete, properly executed, and have considered all cost variables
• Verify Purchase Orders and ensure compliance to purchase policies
• Ensure that alternative sources were explored to obtain the best pricing
• Approve vendor bills and check if the required goods/services have been delivered
• Monitor vendor payment and ensure meeting agreed credit period to ensure seamless flow of material

Inventory/Warehouse Management

• Develop and meet inventory goals for the company which effectively balance cash-flow, industry leading product lead-times, and inventory turn rates.
• Monitor inventory management across branches
• Monitor stock transfers from warehouse to branches
• Monitor transfer between branch warehouses
• Certify inventory holding at the branches and factory and warehouse
