Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Site Implementation Network Engineer to join our team at EIL Global. This mid-level, full-time position is based in Amsterdam, North Holland, Netherlands. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring reliable and efficient IT infrastructure across various sites while adhering to EU data privacy regulations.

Qualifications and Skills

• Must have a strong understanding of networking principles, including TCP/IP, the OSI model, subnetting, routing, switching, and VLANs.
• Proficient in configuring and managing network hardware such as routers, switches, firewalls, and access points.
• Familiarity with network operating systems (e.g., Cisco IOS, Junos, etc.) and network management tools.
• Knowledge of network security concepts and best practices, including encryption protocols, firewalls, access control, and security policies.
• Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Understand wireless networking technologies, including Wi-Fi standards (e.g., 802.11ac, 802.11ax), wireless security protocols (e.g., WPA2, WPA3).
• Expertise in network monitoring and management tools like Solarwinds.
• Network Certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP) is a must.
• Must possess strong analytical skills, evaluate multiple solutions, and make informed decisions.
• Meticulous attention to detail and follow established procedures to maintain network integrity and security.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Possess strong customer service skills, empathy, and the ability to communicate technical concepts in a non-technical manner.
• The ability to plan, execute, and manage network projects and coordinate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Able to design and implement a network infrastructure based on organizational requirements.
• Installing and configuring network hardware, such as Access Points, routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Monitoring network performance, system availability, and reliability.
• Troubleshooting and resolving network issues, including hardware and software problems.
• Collaborating with other IT professionals to develop and implement network security measures.
• Conducting regular network maintenance, including updating software and hardware.
• Documenting network configurations, processes, and procedures.
• Providing network engineering support and training to other team members as required.
• Travelling across various sites in EU countries for site implementation work.
