Job Overview

We are seeking a Senior Packaging and User Acceptance specialist for a full-time position located in Sydney or Melbourne. This role involves ensuring the quality and reliability of IT services through comprehensive user acceptance and packaging processes. The candidate will be responsible for managing test automation tools and overseeing user acceptance testing, collaborating closely with various teams to ensure seamless integration.


Qualifications and Skills

  • Proficiency in test automation tools is mandatory, enabling efficient and effective validation of IT solutions. (Mandatory skill)
  • Extensive experience with user acceptance testing (UAT) frameworks and methodologies is required for ensuring system readiness. (Mandatory skill)
  • Strong knowledge of quality assurance processes to maintain high standards of service delivery and product quality.
  • Ability to analyze requirements and specifications to identify potential issues and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
  • Proficient in defect tracking and management to document and resolve issues systematically and efficiently.
  • Experience in release management, coordinating multiple teams to schedule, execute, and monitor release processes.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise with stakeholders and document test plans, test cases, and test results meticulously.
  • Problem-solving abilities to troubleshoot and resolve issues in collaboration with development and operations teams.


Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the full lifecycle of user acceptance testing and packaging for IT services and solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth integration and release of solutions across various environments.
  • Develop and execute test plans, scenarios, scripts, and procedures to validate system performance and functionality.
  • Identify, document, and track defects through to resolution, ensuring high standards of quality are maintained.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to gather and interpret business requirements for accurate testing and system delivery.
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on testing outcomes to support decision-making processes and improvements.
  • Ensure adherence to release management processes and timelines, coordinating with teams to minimize disruption.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation of testing processes, results, and improvements for future reference and compliance.
  • Oversee projects of varying sizes, working closely with other development, QA, and application teams to ensure successful delivery of software to the end user environments via direct push or Appstore publishing in an expedited timeline.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts (using PowerShell, VB Script, etc.) to streamline the installation, configuration, testing, and deployment process to improve operational efficiency and time to delivery.
  • Work closely with other IT teams including developers, business analysts, product owners, to understand requirements and resolve issues.
  • Create impactful reports for senior management, leveraging PowerBI on an ad hoc basis.
  • Leverage best practices for software packaging and deployment and provide continuous innovative improvements through suggestions, process improvements, and automations.
  • Develop deliverables to the highest standards ensuring they meet IT Risk and cyber policies, highlighting deficiencies in software and gatekeeping against EOL software components making it to the production environment.
  • Deliver solutions from basic application owner requirements, through to technical delivery. Guide requesters and ensure requirements are met.
  • Set up non-functional tests to certify application cluster additions, upgrades, and removals. Manage application tester management and ensure they fulfill unit testing including the delivery of test evidence and sign off.
  • Continuous improvement to look for opportunities to deliver better and faster solutions with a clear focus on quality.
